Help with electric door lock problem 200 1993

The driver's keyed door lock recently stopped activating the electric locks when you turn the key. To unlock the car, I first unlock the driver's door with a key, open the door, and lift up on the knob, which activates all the electric door locks to unlock the doors. To lock the car, I have to push the drivers lock knob down, which locks all the doors, then close the door and lock the driver's door with a key.

Before I pull the door panel to investigate, can anyone offer any troubleshooting suggestions or pointers?
