Cannot Remove AW71 Tranny Pan 900

Hi Folks,

In a nutshell, I cannot remove the pan on my 94 945's AW71 tranny because an exhaust bracket is in the way.

There is a bracket that ties the exhaust pipe to the tranny crossmember and it completely blocks access to two screws holding the pan. I've looked it over, and it seems to be attached to the tranny mount on the crossmember. I don't see how disconnecting the tranny mount and even liftng the tranny a little would provide a way to remove the bracket.

This seems very odd for Volvo to have a bracket located in such a way as to prevent transmission maintenance.

I was hoping to drop the pan, clean it, change the filter and drop in a couple magnets... Now I guess I can only do a flush.

Anybody else ever see this exhaust bracket?

Thanks.
