Cooling system troubleshooting? Gasket blowout on hard pipe at back of water pump 900 1993

You mean oring on the back pipe for water pump? The right way to install is to connect that pipe and oring(maybe little lube assist) before tightening up the water pump bolts/nuts. I'm guessing the oring didn't seat properly. I doubt you'll be able to fix it without loosening up the water pump.
As far as heater valve. While you do that, replace the hoses. Just be careful muscling them off at the heater core nipples. That is very soft metal. I've use a razor knife to cut the hose long ways. Others suggested getting a rag soaked in hot water and wrap around the hose for a little while to soften them up.
