Denso Alternator Part Interchangeability Questions 900 1994

I have a couple Denso 80A alternators 1392327 and a couple 100A alternators 3544119, all Denso. I would like to make a good 100A alternators out of these. One of the 80A alts. has a very nice commutator I would like to put in the 100A alternator.
Are the 80A and 100A rotors interchangeable (the same)? Seems like a crazy question but the rotor is just the field and doesn't carry much current.
How do I separate the alts. halves? I took off the nuts on the studs but could not separate them.
Is there enough copper on the grooved commutators to be able to take a few thousand off to make it smooth? The end commutator looks like it is fused to a brass cap and the inner commutator looks like it may have enough to take maybe .020" off or so.
Thanks
