1989 780- where does this wire go? 700 1989

My bertone started cutting out yesterday- I pull over, pop the hood, and notice a spark. There is a green wire with red stripe hanging loose-

It has a barrel connector (like for the temp sensor). It enters the engine bay through the firewall/wheel well on the drivers side along with a handful of other bundles of wire, although it is by itself in its sheath. It will reach to the valve cover, but not any further. It looks like it has been connected, but pulled out.

Wiring diagrams show a green/red connecting to the grey/red for the ICV, but I had traced that harness back and can not find anything. At the same time, there is a much larger gauge green/red connected to the gang resistor near the headlights, so I don't know how correct my green/red guess is.

Any ideas where this thing goes? Thanks!
