Idle problem 140-160 1969

Last year I was using, quite unsuccessfully, the black box and dizzy from a 74-75 164. Worked fine for a short time, then caused carb backfires. Took a long time to realize that it was the cause. Checked EVERYTHING else! (Check out some of my posts on it) Those just were not compatible with a 1969 164 with carbs. Don't know where the notion that is interchangeable came from. As soon as we figured it out and put the points and old dizzy back in, she ran fine...until now. Hence the Petronix that goes in next week.
