M40/M41 jumping out of reverse 1800

Hi

Tried to post in all but no answer so hope to try my luck in the 1800 forum. My "new" M41 (D type overdrive) has the bad habit of jumping out of reverse. Beside the obvious ball and spring on the shift rods, what can else be wrong. If I don't get it wrong reverse is strait cut gears and there is no syncro mechanism at all that holds the gear in place when selected. Anyone having some good ideas what makes it jump out?

Cheers Dyna
