Faulty fuel pump?? 200

Driving a 240 DL auto across Canada.
Hit a no start situation after stopping for a bite to eat.
Got her towed to the nearest biggest town, as we're in a bit of a rush to get to where we need to go. The mechanic suspects a faulty pump, as the engine turns over, gets a spark but there's no fuel pressure.

I asked him to check the fuses and relay, but he said that the pump is getting power, just not pumping fuel. It's gonna be a costly fix. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!
