Well the adapter for the transmission turned out fantastic. At 60 miles mph the rpm`s are 2500. The rear axle tag says 41-10 and 4.10. I think most of these 544`s came with 411 gear ratio`s didn`t they? There is an ever so slightly whine under acceleration coming from the rear end. What is the best gear lube for these rear axles? (Virginia`s climates are not so cold). I think what`s in there now for lube is Lucas 85-90 synthetic. The rear end was cleaned and resealed and what came out for lube looked fine with no metal. Its all slowly getting there and thanks for any help. Larry
