89 245 brake lights out... 200 1989

My daughter was shuffling cars around the yard this afternoon and I noticed the brake lights on the 89 245 are out. I was planning to pull both lenses off and replace one anyway, so it is time to repair or upgrade all the bulbs, gaskets lenses etc. What do you guys recommend? Stock incandescents or something better, led? What about the brake light switch? I'm guessing mine is original and might as well replace or upgrade. Anything else? Slowly but surely I want to work my way around the car keeping it viable and on the road for my daughter's upcoming "learn to drive" phase. Thanks!
