You might want to start with simple things first.
For me, that would be to check the accordion hose for tiny cracks or holes rubbed into the volutes tops.
Inspect by passing a light bulb down the center of it in a dark area.
Check the all hoses that connect on the sides as well. Sometimes the ports crack from the strain of the hoses.
This hose fits between the Air Mass Meter and the throttle body.
It has to be tight on each end with its clamps too.
All the Flame trap system of hoses have to fit tight so check those too!
The engine usually flexes more under the load of A/C during idling and take-off moments. It might be wiggling these hoses to open up more.
Excesss air mixture anywhere behind the AMM will make the engine run rough. It is unmetered air and you cannot have that!
Hot ambient air is thinner and this will lean the engine out even more.
This is a constant self tuning engine and you are hitting the outer limits of what it can control.
It's fighting to adjust around an "anomaly" occurring at random.
Sometimes it is called an intermittent problem or a Gremlin!
Does this car have an EGR? Something to keep in the back of your mind when you get desperate.
Any Check Engine Light or CEL on the dash?
