No power, sweet exhaust smell 700

The "sweet" smell is likely your evidence (boiling green coolant smells like that). Next step would be either noticeable coolant loss or the overflow cap popping off (assuming you have the right one and it has not failed already).

You can test for combustion products in the antifreeze with test strip but I find them unreliable in older cars (false positives). The steam-cleaned spark plug mentioned in another post is another common sign.
