1992 stutters, misses a beat, lurches for a split second

My 245 manual will lurch, for an instant when driving. It isn't consistent, in other words, it can pretty much happen any time but, seems to be worse when driving in 4th or 5th gear. It will just like miss a beat for a split second. It is either losing fuel or spark for nano-second.
If it was the fuel filter, it wouldn't run. Maybe the fuel pump isn't getting current for that nano-second? Thanks!
