122 door handle pushing lever issues

You don't have it assembled correctly.

The inner piece that the little bolt screws into is supposed to protrude through the back plate when the lever is in the correct position and when you push on the button.

When you do get it to line up and protrude, you need to tighten the small jam nut to the top of the inner piece while pushing on the button and that way it will stay lined up.

You might have to adjust the little bolt once you get the inner piece lined up.
