Steering column 120-130

Good day
I have a problem with the steering column of my 122S in that it is moving in towards the engine bay and the safety coupling pins are disengaging from the rubber bushes mounted in the steering shaft from the steering box.
I am going strip the steering column today to try and see what the problem is but would also like to hear from anyone who has experienced this before. I have an idea that there may be a circlip that has shifted out of position and may need replacing.
Thanks
Greig
