B-20 eng. hot soak Weber dgv 32/36 444-544

Hey to ya`s, I`m having a hot soak issue. I started noticing when all of the high test (no ethanol) gas was used up and refilled with cheap ethanol gas. I currently have a plastic spacer between the carb. and intake. There will be a heat shield between the carb. and intake soon. Also the fuel hose that comes from the regulator will be in a protective sleeve. The temperature on the fuel bowl was 134 degrees and the fuel was percolating in the fuel bowl. As far as timing I am getting 30 degrees total advance and I`m running a Crane XR 700 ign. The engine temperature is 180 degrees in 90 degree heat. The elect. fan comes on at 200 degrees and cools down right away. The fan never runs unless sitting in traffic or after engine is shut down for a bit. The exhaust manifold is a cast iron 4 into two down pipe . The radiator is special made by Howe Racing and is way over kill. The engine is a 1971 B-20 that was a total rebuild to bring it back to close to original specs. and I don`t know the specs but only has about 15 thousand miles on it and runs flawlessly until the fuel issue starts. For the fuel system I am running a new machanical fuel pump that had a little more fuel pressure than needed for the Weber so it now has a Holley 12-804 adj. fuel pressure regulator range 1 to 4 psi. The pressure is set for 3 psi. and is a dead head setup. I was going to run a return to the tank to help cool the fuel but could not figure how to do that with such low fuel pressure and maintain enough to fill the carb. bowl at the same time. What do ya`s think? Thanks larry
