240 tailgate 200

hello,

The 240 tailgate hinge gasket seem to have big hole for wire
https://www.ipdusa.com/products/10451/121875-tailgate-hinge-base-gasket-right-240-1986-1993 .
Previously, tailgate hinge gaskets for 240 used to have a tighter, snugger fit.
Has anyone had problems with water coming through this bigger hole and leaking into the interior?
If so, do you have any tricks for helping to limit the water from leaking into the interior?
I tried using windshield tar inside the hinge , but that just shorten the life of the gate wiring hardness to about 1 1/2 years.
