Posted before and got alot helpful responses from people. Thank you Machine Man, Art, Pageda, etc.
So, story goes that my car was acting up, idling too low or too high, usually going to high after being warmed up for 15-30 min. Then it was having a hard time starting and acting weird. Replaced the battery, no more starting problems. No hard starts, always starts up normally like usual, like it always has.
Idling problems persist: stalling out worse now when gas pedal not depressed; dies not only at idling stops but also while cruising or making turns as foot is taken off of gas pedal.
-Service light is on continually
-Check engine light comes on now also at times
-OBD unit is still giving me 1-1-1 in both the #2 and #6 slots.
My suspicion is that the problem is the TPS or the IAC valve. I replaced the IAC valve about 3-4 years ago, not sure if I replaced with a genuine volvo or a generic. When I first started having this stalling/idling problem I cleaned both of these components out with carb cleaner but to no avail.
Furthering my case against the TPS, I executed a simple Bentley ignition system troubleshooting check. SLot #2 on the OBD unit depress the button twice and get it flashing and then actuate the throttle control arm. Upon doing this the code 3-3-4 did not come out, instead the led just kept flashing. BUT, my OBD unit is also not giving any codes for problems which is extremely disconcerting and makes me wonder about the ECU...
Machine Man had mentioned going to the ECU for testing. Haven't ever done that before. This may be the time to start!
But, in the meantime, I am getting a new TPS and will install that and see what happens later this week.
