Will I Lose Refrigerant When Changing Switch?

Hi Everyone!

Seems that my low pressure switch is the problem with my 1993 940 wagon AC. NAPA has a part called "AC Pressure Cycling Switch" (TEM 203713) that they say will fit the car. I am unable to find a Pressostat.

Also, the man said that when I change out the switch, freon will spew out. However, on another post, someone said that this switch has a Schrader valve, which prevents freon from leaking when the switch is changed out.

Any thoughts if this part is correct from NAPA and if it's safe to change out the switch without leakage?

With much appreciation for your insight,

Susan
