Well, the late 940 bulb failure system is a different animal from what I've been told. A 240 cares not about turn signals.

But, as to why a new set of bulbs fix things? The usual reason is when parts are replaced, the contacts are freshened. Once the problem disappears for this reason, no one but the most OCD of us goes back and repeats the experiments to be sure the new part made the difference. Problem solved... move on. Who cares why...
