Mystery Tach Wire 1800

I'm about to give up on my MSD box installation because i can't seem to get my Smiths tach to work with it. Worked fine with the Pertonix igniter and the MSD Blaster Coil, but when I try to integrate the MSD 6T box, no go, even with the addition of a TachMatch TM-03. (BTW, Brian at TachMatch has been a prince through this.)

in any case, as i continue to experiment, I am perplexed by the Green/White wire that connects to the 1/4" spade connector adjacent to the red and white wire, current sensing coil terminals. I can't see a reference to this wire on any 1800E wiring diagram. And there seems to be no continuity between that terminal and any other parts of the tach. Can someone advise me on the function of this wire? And if it has anything to do with the actual operation the tach?
