dizzy or coil problem 444-544

65 544 with stock ignition. Car started to miss under load especially at high RPM. Replaced points, condenser, rotor and cap. no improvement. Replaced spark plug wires, got worse, limped home, parked it till next day.
No start next morning. Wired in Japanese coil, fired right up.
OK thought bad coil. Bought new coil with internal resistor. NO start. Made in China. Went back to Japanese coil with new external resistor as coil states that it requires one.
Everything fine for 20 miles then started missing again under load and getting worse.
Both old and new rotor have high resistance from center contact to outer tip. Is that normal?
Spark plugs are NGK BPR6HS and look like new.

Any and all comments welcome. Tom
