Brown A/C Pressostat on 940

On a 1994 940 non-turbo, would there be a downside to driving without the brown pressostat on the condenser? My understanding is this pressostat cycles the radiator fan on low speed. The fan is now constantly on at low speed. Will this negatively affect a/c performance or engine cooling?

The pressostat is leaking refrigerant at the electrical prongs. I am not able to find a replacement OEM. I'm told by Tasca it's on back order 4-6 weeks from Sweden. Of course, I know I can get Scantech or Four Seasons, but I have not had good experience with these brands and am not interested in wasting my money.

Can these pressostats be repaired?
