I need a new windshield for my 1980 242. I would really like to preserve the originality of the car by keeping the chrome moulding, but it seems that the original style windshield (part # 1246661) has now been discontinued. I know that many here prefer the newer style with the integrated black moulding, but if possible I would like to to keep the appearance original. Does anybody know if there is a substitute part number or other options ? Any good quality aftermarket ones available ? Also, if I must go with the newer style, is the correct Volvo part number 3540050 ? I greatly prefer to use original Volvo parts whenever possible.
