Front End Bushing replacement 120-130

My wife says that my 62 2 dr is like riding in an airplane because at about 60mph it seems to leave the road surface. I admit it isn't rock solid as far as direction control is concerned. So I'm thinking maybe it's the bushings needing replacement. The tie rod ends seem tight and pass the test we used in the gas station I worked in, 50 years ago, where we'd jack up a wheel and lever it up and down looking for play. Can anyone describe the symptoms connected to bushings that require replacement? What replacements are best-I know this has been discussed before and it may be just a matter of opinion, but I wouldn't mind hearing it again. Thanks for looking.
