Replacing the double DIN 815 stereo in my 96 960 900

Riding to NY and back with a inop cd player wasn't fun, so as soon as I got back I ordered a Blaupunkt New Jersey 220 BT. Supposedly designed and engineered in Germany, but made in China (of course). The original speakers sounded pretty good with the original 815, so I'll live with them for now. Crutchfield says it's a "modified fit", but once you remove the side rails with a hacksaw blade it's pretty good. If you look close around the trim ring you can see a glimpse of bright metal, but a little black paint will fix that. There aren't really any good spots for the installation sleeve tabs to catch, so I ended up pumping high strength hot melt between the sleeve and the surrounding plastic, that did the trick. The harness they sent with it was a perfect fit, wiring was a no-brainer. I made my first ever use of Bluetooth yesterday, a phone call through the stereo, it worked great. All in all a nice unit, sounds great, not flashy, looks like it belongs. Best of all, inexpensive. I was Bill Crutchfield's Mooney aircraft mechanic in the late 70's.
