Next!! 940 no start/intermittent start/cold or hot 900

Dear bynks@hotmail.com,

Hope you're well. Code 1-2-2 on Port A2 (fuel injection) means the IAT (intake air temperature sensor) signal is absent or faulty. If so, this car uses Rex/Regina engine/fuel management. The IAT sensor is mounted in the cylindrical unit between the air box and the corrugated rubber hose, that takes air to the throttle body.

The sensor's two-pin wiring harness connector housing is bright blue and the sensor's body is made of black plastic, with a series of small round holes on either side. This item is part #1389556. The cost is about $65.

Before replacing this sensor, use an aerosol corrosion-remover, e.g., Deoxit to clean the sensor's pins and the wiring harness connector contacts. If cleaning does not restore smooth operation, the sensor may be defective.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
