Electronic Ignition 1800

The ignition points don't do anything directly to the FI system.

There is a pair of points sometimes refered to as contact trigger points, see picture below.

The trigger points assembly is installed in a slot in the side of a D-jet distributor. The slot is below the breaker plate that holds the ignition points. The trigger points are opened by a single lobe on the distributor shaft below the breaker plate and each set of points is a switch that sends a ground signal to the computer that is used to trigger a pair of fuel injectors.
