bad calipers

"Why do think the calipers are suspect?"

I'm not thinking, remember, just shooting from the hip. That's an American idiom roughly meaning to react without careful consideration. As a practice, it is coming into vogue again, seemingly, with the political climate in the US.

I'm glad our 240s do not use sliders. Far too little input here for doing much better analysis. The parts are in your hands, not mine, and you can yourself look at them, feel how they work; I can only guess from one photograph.

A photo may be a thousand words, but I'm guessing only 2 or 3 hundred in this case.
