New used ransmission geared lower than old one? 900 1994

Hi,

This is my first post to this forum, but I have been a FAQ reader for years.

After my old transmission for my '94 940 died, my shop put in another used transmission, said to be from a '95. The new one works well, but I have the odd feeling that the gearing is lower for the new one. That is, at freeways speeds the engine seems to be revving just a little higher than the old one.

Or it could be my imagination, or maybe I've gotten used to my wife's '10 Nissan, which does 80 while revving at only 2k!)

The overdrive works correctly, and it shifts well.

Can anyone tell me at what speed the engine should be running at say 70 mph? I did not see this in the FAQ, but my apologies if it is there.

Thank you.
