Fuel Gauge Problems.......... 140-160

I ordered an aftermarket fuel sender from Hi Performance Auto. I've tested it, and it has the correct ohms. The sender steadily goes from 10 - 70 ohms. I cannot get the gauge to read correctly. If you ground the sender wire, the gauge pegs full. Un-ground the wire, and it is at empty. The problem is, the gauge doesn't "sweep" with the ohms. Example, at 10 ohms, it is at full. By 15 ohms it is at empty. It should steadily move towards full empty at 70 ohms. Hope I explained it clearly and someone can help.

Thanks,
