Goes in to shop running perfectly. Comes out running very rough. 200

My 89 240 Wagon has 295,000 miles on it and is doing well. I decided to replace the clutch and shocks/struts, so I took it into my shop and they did the work. Now the car runs very roughly, idles inconsistently fast then slowly if at all, seems to have less power, and stalls at stops. Starting is very difficult--it seems to hesitate. The more gas I give it when on the road, the better it seems to run.
Any ideas?
