average battery life is only 2-4 years 200

My Interstate brand battery on my 1990 245 died at 5 1/2 years, which I thought was premature. I've
been using Interstate batteries for over 20 years and they all seemed to have lasted 7-8 years. After some internet research, I learned that a good quality battery will last 7-8 years if it is being used for a lot of highway driving. For short distances driving, which I have been using the past few years, a good quality battery will only last about 5. The culprit is that short distance driving never allows the alternator to fully recharge the battery and, over time, such a state of recharging only serves to reduce the lifespan of the battery.

Additionally, the average life of any car battery in general is only 2-4 years.

Anyway, thought I'd pass this along.
