86 240 no start 200 1986

My old faithful 86 240 (425,000 est)wouldn't start after work last night...This was out of the Blue with no precipitating symptoms...I jumped #4 and #6 fuses and no joy,,,The engine will run ever so briefly, then stop.....Looked at it this a.m after an hour or so in "the Archives" l
thinking it might be the ECU I removed its camouflage, (it's a yellow label 554).
I removed the harness, looked at it, no visible problems, put it back...I turned the key and it ran for maybe 5 seconds, then stopped...Repeating the removal did not.....repeat running...
I found an ECU on E-bay for $25 including shipping should be here tomorrow or the next day
Questions
are there other p/n that will fit my 86 B230F
the more i read about the more questions I have
