Steering rack question 200

It likely doesn't matter what rack is in it. The odds are good it's been replaced at least once -- and the remans (whether CAM, CAM/TRW or ZF) are all interchangeable. I went through 4 different racks with my local supplier before we got one shipped in from the wearhouse that would fit my car (5.0L Ford motor mount arrangement interfered with certain racks). I was unable to specify "I want a ZF type II rack from the remanufacturer". If you're planning on keeping the car - replace the pump and both hoses at the same time you replace the rack. The hoses deteriorate on the inside - and the same debris that often takes out one thing (rack or pump) usually does some damage to the other thing (rack or pump).
