window motor mount 700

My window motor works, but window does not move. I take the door card off and
see that the plastic piece that window motor is bolted through to the door has broken, leaving the motor not engaged with the scissor gear. I can hold the motor up with my hand, applying pressure and re-engage the motor to raise/lower the window.

My question is can I just remove the plastic mounting piece and reattach the motor, or does the plastic piece act a spacer? Thanks...
