ps fluid for 200, which? 200

I have always heard that type F Ford tranny fluid was the correct POWER STEERING FLUID for an 1987, 1990, and 1992 240 series PS pump. I have also seen Mobil 1 and other things. Is there any consensus recently that might permit a synthetic 20 weight ATF type F fluid (as on Amazon, ATI? $120 for 12 quarts) or is it still up in the air? Keep same pump, flush all, add filter in return line. Final verdict???Thanks! (To be done when weather is finally good).
