86 240 wheel bearings n stuff 200 1986

HI Paul,

A standard angle tapered roller bearings are used in these wheels. I agree, $32 per set sounds a bit expensive. Sometimes and in ways shipping can be a killer.

I'm pretty sure you can get both sets for a little bit more within a quality Timken or SKF brand right over the counter.
If they source correctly within their business contacts that will be including those inner rubber dust seals.

Take note, that a few years back and still today SKF has been plaque with boxed up counterfeits or knock offs being sold. Watch out from whom you deal with.
The Internet is not only opening many doors to commerce, but in some cases, it has shorten some doors and allowing all kinds of dirty things to blow under them.
It's been so bad that SKF formed an undercover division to fight them.

You should be able to take both inners and outer roller cages and their respective outer races out of one hub to an industrial bearing house.
The bearings part numbers are etched around the rims.
The two numbers will correlate to an inclusive "set" number. When these are sold as a common set and are stocked by area turnover, the price should be appreciably less.

Search/Call around for a large local bearing house and find out if they are in stock.
Applied Technologies "was a major player" in my eyes years ago, but of lately, they have gotten into some bad management ideas.
Where I live and they want to order everything and have stopped stocking lots of things. So I quit dealing with them as a waste of time and still faced small handling charges if they felt like it.
In LA, that should not be a problem.

The outside seal is known as a v-groove type rubber dust seal and is a common seal. I think it says V 45, if I remember correctly. That's all they need to look them up.

These are both very popular replacements items, with plenty of competition, if you believe that still works anymore?
Consumers have power to negotiate or compare, if they will just use it and not fuel "insane middleman markups" every time something moves from one shelf to another and calls it, Services!

Phil
