Installing a Right Side View Mirror on '83 240? 200

One thing I got out of the bone yard was a nice, complete, right side view mirror. Ever since I got this car I have wanted one. When I asked someone at Volvo about this long ago they told me it was too hard for me to do myself. So I just gave up.

Now that I have the part and some time, I am wondering if anyone can tell me the procedure to remove the current plates and install the mirror? Is it really that hard or was someone dishing me some B.S. long ago?
