Over drive into 445--More mods needed? 444-544

Thanks, Gents. I am bench-top mechanicing now ,need to get into storage and under the 445 and check the current configuration. The fellow had a B18 544, got rear-ended 40 years back and acquired the 445 w/front end damage and installed the B18 and front clip off the coupe. A '59 445, it had been in an overseas shipping container for 15 years when I got it, Another Volvo tale.

ON the overdrive install--the driveshaft will need to be cut?-or-if 2 piece, maybe get lucky and reassemble? Does the older long shifter fit the 73 tranny which has the later offset shifter?

Appreciate the comments and sharing the expertise. Ken
