Identifying Transmission - 1993 240 200 1993

The way I understand it, Phil, is all automatic 240s got an AW-70 since 1982, or an AW-71 if turbocharged.

Ted is saying the AW-70 is as common as leaky refrigeration plants. Hundreds of thousands.

Problem is, the model designation (03-70 on the plate) is not enough to ID the tranny for replacement. There are still options to consider, by year of application, e.g. take-off for speedometer cable (82-85) or ball bearing tailshaft (93).

Without knowing why the OP wants this identified, none of us can answer the question satisfactorily, picture of plate notwithstanding.
