Brake Pedal Switch? 200 1992

1992 240 Wagon

I've had troubles for a while with my shift lock sticking and just always assumed it was something in the shifter assembly. I would just use the manual shift lock release and move on. Recently I realized I should make sure my brake lights actually work. Well they don't, so I think I may be onto something! However, my cruise control works and it will disengage when I tap the brakes. Does the fact that tapping the brakes stops to cruise control indicate the brake pedal switch is OK? I'm not sure if it uses the same switch?

I recently redid all the wiring to the rear hatch and my tail lights work just fine. I don't have any bulb failure warning lights on either.

Thoughts?
