Did something really stupid - transmission fluid in the oil 200 1988

Hi all,

I just mistook a container of transmission fluid for a container of engine oil, and added about 1/2 a quart of transmission fluid to my oil (which was about a quart low).

Coincidentally I am taking my car in to get the oil changed (among other things) on Wednesday. It's about 4 miles from my house to the mechanic. Not sure if I should have it towed in or if I can drive it over without damaging the engine, Or if there's any other thing that needs to happen to minimize any damage from my mistake. One of those "wow I can't believe I just did that" moments.

Thanks,
Susan
