Front window motors 200 1988

I have a 1988 Volvo 240DL. The motor in my driver side window is acting very slow and the motor on the passenger side is not working at all. Both rear seat windows are hand crank. I have 'fiddled' with these motors before and have had some success but the present state is nearing total nonworking. Buying rebuilt motors is nearly absurd about $200.00. Does anyone have some good advice?
