Access to d-type odrive restrictor jet? 120-130

Is it possible to clean to remove and clean a d-type overdrive restrictor jet without dropping the transmission? Apparently the cover nut in on the top of the transmission.

If the answer is "yes", please share your technique.

I'm thinking of cutting an access hole in the top of the tunnel.

AND, I have a very weak reverse gear. It is not an electrical problem. The solenoid is adjusted correctly.
