Getting nervous about my 960 timing belt setup 900

Since the engine in your car is basically the same as my 850 (modular engine - 850 losses one cylinder!), I feel I am somewhat qualified to add a comment...

In the 5 cylinder it is not totally uncommon for the front cam seal to leak and show itself at the timing belt cover. Usually at high mileage but maybe age has done yours in?

Regarding the dealer servicing the timing belt at 87k, my guess is that they replaced the timing belt and probably the tensioner/idler but not the water pump. The water pumps in the 5 cylinder are very robust and normally go 200k+. I'm assuming here that the 6 cylinder water pump is equally strong.

Can't help much with the kit but you could check with Tasca Volvo online (discount dealer) to see what they would wack you for an OEM kit. Also check FCP Euro for an aftermarket kit.
