Oxygen sensor 200 1984

So my 245 has roughly 400k on it (the odometer didn't work for a while). I went to replace my O2 sensor and when removed the threads were torn up. I used a fiber optic camera to look at the threads on the manifold and they were in poor shape. I was thinking of some kind of repair, like heli-coil. Since the car is my only car and I need it to get around I put the new one in as best I could but I'm not confident that it will last. Any ideas?
