1991 240 shuts off while driving 200 1991

Oh, over the decades I've certainly had my share of queefed out main fuel system relays.

But, one time all the symptoms pointed to a faulty relay when the connection of the heavy red conductor at the terminal strip on the left side of the engine compartment was to blame. The spade connector there had split and as a result produced an intermittent connection. It was hard to isolate because, when in place, it appeared perfectly normal and often functioned normally.

I bought that car at a fire sale price because the owner had replaced nearly every engine control component in his futile efforts to find the cause of the random shut-down of the car - that 3 cents spade connector.
