carb question 444-544 1966

Sounds like your throttle shafts & bushings could be worn. Check for play. Also make sure the throttle plates are closing properly in the throat of the carbs. Take the carb off and hold it up to a bright light to see if there is any gap around the edges. I had this problem on my 122. Once I centered the throttle plate it now idles properly.
