Replacing Front Flex lines '91 - 745 700

HI Bricksters
I'm trying to replace my front flex lines with braided SS lines. There are two lines on each side. I can unscrew the lines from the caliper end no problem. But at the junction of the flex line and hard line, there is a retainer bracket that keeps them close to the inner wheel well. The retainer blocks the wrench flats on the flex line, so how do I put a wrench on there to hold it while I try to unscrew the hard line flare nut? Do I have to cut that bracket away to get access to the wrench flats? Thanks! Greg
